My Little Pony: The World's Biggest Tea Party - Review

My Little Pony: The World's Biggest Tea Party
Ages: Kids 2 - 8

And what allows Hasbro to make that claim? It's a live stage show attended by hundreds of children from about 2 to 8 years of age. The MC, a purple dinosaur, aided by three high stepping ladybugs revved up the audience to a near pandemonium of singing and dancing in the aisles. They must have fed them chocolate before.

The stage was filled with eight performers consumed in pastel colored costumes, making them closely resemble the ponies. The favorites are there: Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Unicorn. There is constant singing and prancing about - many scene changes all to further the story of making the "Words Biggest Tea Party". Big, because it includes all the children in the audience, holding up cardboard teacups. The production values for the sound is clearly wanting, with the acoustics of the hall producing serious echoe. The pseudo kiddy voices made the lyrics essentially unintelligible, which didn't seem to bother the children in the audience.

Clearly those in attendance were having a great time. I am not sure that it translates to the children sitting at home and watching it. More likely they will feel left out and hound their parents to take them to the show. I think the bonus "Sing Along Songs" done with cartoons is more likely to hit the right note.

Fun Factor: Clearly more fun being there
Female Factor: With the hair they are most likely all girl ponys
